IELTS Award

Regulations

The Department of Marketing has agreed to donate two annual awards, financed from the discretionary fund of the Department, to the University, with effect from 2003/04. Regulations are as follows:

1. The scholarships shall be known as the "The Department of IELTS Awards" (市場營銷學系IELTS獎)

2. Each winner will be awarded a book coupon of HK$2,000.

3. The awards shall be awarded to two full-time undergraduates pursuing their 2nd and 3rd year of study respectively, with their major in Marketing or China Business. Awards will be given to the two students who have obtained the highest marks with minimum score of 7.5 or above in the IELTS examination in the nearest 12 months.

4. If in any year there are more than two students found to be of sufficient merit, the donor has the discretion to suggest splitting the award among all qualified students, or take into consideration the performances of those students in other public examinations (e.g. HKCEE, HKALE AS Use of English, TOFEL) to make the nomination.

5. Students will be asked to apply for the award in March each year. Nominations from the Department of Marketing will reach the Student Development Services by June and the awards will be made as soon as possible.

6. If in any year no student is found to be of sufficient merit, the award will be withheld.
